Care for the environment and sustainability are at the forefront of all our activities and products. MERLYN recognises that company activities do have an impact on the environment. We seek to manufacture and supply all our products in a sustainable way.

Our commitment to uphold the highest level of corporate responsibility, including our supply chain, extends to the priority of minimising our negative impact on the environment and developing a rigorous Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) reporting framework.

We hold ourselves accountable to being proactive and solution-oriented in the effort to advance sustainable, long-term growth in the world in which we live. By engaging with stakeholders – including customers and employees – we do our part to improve today’s environmental and societal challenges and better serve our community.

Environmental impact

MERLYN is committed to minimising this impact by continually improving our efficiency in terms of energy, water, and material consumption. One area of focus for MERLYN has been taking steps to reduce single use plastics within the product packaging. We also have rigorous programmes to seek to ensure compliance with all environmental legislation and requirements relating to our operations and our products. MERLYN is an ISO14001 accredited company thus cementing our environmental credentials further.

A successful track record in providing world class service has been and will continue to be a cornerstone of our success.

Our Integrated Management System is certified to ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 standards and serves as the roadmap to achieving the aims of our quality and environmental
policies. By on-going monitoring and analysis of our operational performance and review of our quality, environmental and Occupational Healthy and Safety (OH&S) objectives we continuously improve our effectiveness to achieve exemplary quality, environmental and OH&S performance.

Energy efficiency

MERLYN aims to measure our carbon emissions and deliver science- based targets to reduce and minimise our carbon footprint across the business. MERLYN aims to focus on carbon reduction is areas such as energy, waste, water and material consumption in our head office and warehouse in Ireland, the fleet of company cars and air travel associated with business travel.

Top management commits to protecting the environment and ensuring best practice by integrating the following Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) principles into our core business activities and by promoting them through our product and service supply chains:
